The opportunity

This role starts in early September 2024, and is based on a construction site/project in London within our Construct engine.

 

It has been called the ‘heart and soul’ of the company, where Mace began and built its reputation. Mace has delivered over 500 construction management projects. Today, construction management accounts for nearly 70% of the overall capital cost of our projects. Mace is as much based on the principle of construction management and finding a better way of delivering for clients, today as it was when the company was founded.

 

As a company that prides itself on shaping construction management in the UK, we have seen the service go from being almost exclusively associated with commercial projects in London, to its current position across all sectors and regions. This is testament to the speed, agility and flexibility of construction management - benefits that have been realised on some of the most iconic developments of the last 32 years.

 

In our Construct engine, you’ll be right where the action unfolds. We turn blueprints into tangible reality, coordinating on-site operations and logistics that make projects come alive. From building more safely and sustainably to adopting radical new methods of offsite delivery, our construct engine is leading the way in our sector. Based mainly on-site, we thrive on creating opportunity and building with purpose to deliver for our clients. In Design Management, you will support the process of managing the design strategy and implementation throughout the project lifecycle. Some of your main responsibilities will include: 

You will work towards completing a Level 4 Construction Design and Build Technician apprenticeship, where you’ll achieve a HNC in Construction. We’ll also support you in gaining professional membership of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).

As our projects are spread across different locations, your work base will be flexible, and travel may be required to various project sites or Mace offices. It’s therefore important to have a positive and flexible approach towards travel.
